Vandals Deface Nativity Scenes in Huntington Beach With Nazi Symbols

December 27, 2012

Vandals defaced Nativity scenes outside a home in Huntington Beach and outside a church a few blocks away.  The vandals wrote “Hail (sic) Hitler”, drew a Hitler mustache on a baby Jesus and put a Nazi symbol on a wise man.  Police were searching for the suspects on December 23, 2012.

Vandalism, pursuant to Penal Code section 594, where the damage is less than $400 is a misdemeanor.  Vandalism is a wobbler if the damage is $400 or more.  However, vandalism at a church, under certain circumstances, is punishable as a wobbler regardless of the damage, pursuant to Penal Code section 594.3(a).
