Two major incidents of California Sheriff’s Department planting evidence have come to light in recent weeks.

The first of these involve two sheriffs caught on the dashboard cam colluding to plant drugs in a Santa Clara woman’s house. After the two sheriffs conducted an illegal search, that turned up nothing, they are filmed discussing and producing drugs in-order to frame the woman and her husband. The two officers continued to falsify reports and, according to charges, continued to plot with the crime lab to tamper with blood tests. To read the full story click here.

The second story takes place, closer to home, here in Los Angeles County. According to a news article, “Two former Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies have been charged with conspiracy, perjury and altering evidence in connection with planting guns inside a medical marijuana dispensary to justify two arrests in 2011.”  The officers allegedly witnessed a narcotics deal involving a firearm, then followed the suspects to a dispensary. During an illegal search of the property the two sheriffs were caught on tape planting and moving firearms and narcotics inside the property to bolster and create charges against the defendants.
