A 24 year old woman has been arrested for assaulting a McDonald’s manager in Santa Ana, California in a violent incident that was captured on surveillance video.
According to authorities, Mayra Berenice Gallo entered the employee back door of the restaurant at approximately 11 p.m. and asked workers for ketchup. The manager of the McDonald’s told Gallo that she was not allowed in the employee area, but Gallo became violent, kicking, punching, and choking the manager. Gallo can be seen on the video slamming the manager’s head against a drink machine with her hands around her neck. Other employees rushed to the manager’s aid as the fight moved closer to the drive-through window. Gallo, with her hands still locked around the manager’s neck, continued to shove the victim violently into walls and beverage machines, spilling drinks and knocking items to the floor while a customer waited in a vehicle at the window.
“After doing the story with numerous media outlets, detectives received numerous tips leading them to the identity and location of the suspect wanted in this assault”, the police department said in a statement. A warrant was issued for Gallo, who was arrested at her home without incident and booked, authorities said. Her bail was set at $15,000.
