A fatal car crash on the 91 freeway left a driver facing a DUI charge after he collided with another vehicle on Sunday. 29-year old Jonathan Rivera was driving a 2006 Honda Civic when he veered into the right shoulder and collided with a stopped 2019 Volkswagen Atlas. The Volkswagen Atlas had four people inside, including Francisca Solis and Trinidad Solis, who died at UC Irvine Medical Center as a result of their injuries.
Also in the car were 93-year old Gregorio Solis and 52-year old Gregorio Vazquez who were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Rivera, who is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, was transported to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo to be treated for major injuries.
